Melanotan II peptide (MT2) is a synthetic analogue of melanotan that stimulates melanin production in the body. The name is derived from Melanotan II, which is a peptide that acts on melanocortin receptors, leading to increased melanin production in the skin.

Potential properties :

Dermal protection: melanotan-2 may offer some level of protection against harmful UV rays, which, in combination with other forms of protection, may be beneficial to skin health in the long term.

Melanotan II was initially investigated as a potential sunscreen drug to increase the skin's resistance to UV radiation and prevent sunburn. However, due to Melanotan II's ability to stimulate rapid skin browning without the need for prolonged sun exposure, the substance has also found applications in cosmetics and recreation.
