What are probiotics?

Probiotics are non-pathogenic living organisms that have a positive effect on the functioning of the body. They regulate the intestinal flora or microbiota. This strain is more resistant to acidic environments than the pathogens and microorganisms that cause food spoilage.

After ingestion, L. sporogenes spores are resistant in the acidic environment of the gastrointestinal tract for several hours. L. sporogenes then intervenes in the metabolic activity of the gut, producing L - (+) - lactic acid as the main product of fermentation.The main mechanism of survival and growth of L. sporogenes is based on the principle of "competitive exclusion" involving competition for a limited amount of nutrients.

*The acidic environment created by the production of L - (+) - lactic acid prevents the proliferation of pathogens and promotes the growth of L. sporogenes, which thus dominates the intestinal flora.
